Founded in 1881, The Northern is the longest established racquets and fitness club in the region. Squash is played on six courts: two glassback courts with tiered seating in the exhibition area, and four hardback courts with a balcony above. The club runs a full junior programme through the week alongside a coach led social night and womens only training sessions. Beyond squash there are tennis courts, undercover padel courts, gyms and a fitness studio, with the Lawn Room bar and bistro for afterwards. Five minutes from the M60 and a short walk from West Didsbury tram stop
