Group squash coaching

Two to six players, one coach, one court — perfect if you'd rather play with people you know.

Group coaching is for two to six players sharing one coach and one court. It's the easiest way into squash if you'd rather start with people you know — friends, a partner, a work team, or a few people learning together. Sessions are structured, friendly, and built around the group, not against it. Every coach is vetted and female. Sessions are bookable online across the UK, with the court included in the price.

Who it's for

Group coaching works best for two to six players who want to learn or improve together.

If none of you has played before, your coach starts with the basics and runs drills the whole group can do at the same level.

If some of you have played and others haven't, your coach builds the session so everyone has something to work on. Mixed ability works — it's what coaches are trained for.

If you're a group of regulars who want to sharpen up, your coach can run match-play drills, fitness work, or specific technique sessions.

What to expect

You arrive together, find your coach, and warm up as a group. Your coach explains the plan for the session and asks if anyone has anything specific they want to work on.

From there, expect rotating drills, paired exercises, and short games. Group coaching uses the court more dynamically than individual sessions — two of you might rally while two practise feeding, then you swap. It feels like a social, but a structured one.

The session ends with a short cool-down and a recap. Your coach will give the whole group one or two things to take away.

Frequently asked questions

How many people are in a group session?

Two to six players, plus the coach. You book a slot for the whole group — gather your players first, then book.

Do I need to bring friends, or can I join one?

You book as a group. Bring the people you want to play with — friends, family, a partner, a few colleagues. Courter doesn't match individuals into mixed groups at the moment.

What if some of us have never played before?

That works. Group coaching is built to handle mixed ability — your coach will run the session so everyone has something to work on at their level.

Can mixed-ability groups work?

Yes. Coaches use drills and rotations that suit different levels at the same time. Tell your coach when you book what the group looks like, and they'll plan accordingly.

Do we all need our own equipment?

No. Your coach will bring rackets and balls if anyone needs them for a first session. Comfortable clothing and non-marking trainers are all anyone really needs. Please let us know at point of booking so the coach knows how many rackets to bring.

Can I buy a session for someone else?

Yes. You can book for yourself and your friends, or book for your partner to try something new. You can also buy them a gift card so they can choose their own session, coach, and time. Browse gift vouchers →
