Tesni Murphy is one of the most successful squash players Wales has ever produced. Born in Cardiff, she rose to a career-high world ranking of No. 9 — the first Welsh woman ever to break into the world's top ten — across fifteen years on the professional tour before stepping away in 2026.
Along the way she became a two-time British National Champion, the first Welsh player of either gender to win the title, claimed multiple Welsh National titles, and took a Commonwealth Games bronze medal in 2018. She has represented Wales at three Commonwealth Games and on the world stage, and won on the PSA Tour against the very best in the game.
Tesni is an all-rounder who reads the game as well as she hits it. Her strength is the thinking side of squash: shot selection, finding space, moving well, and building points that wear an opponent down. She adapts to whoever she's playing with, from those wanting to sharpen their match play to those still finding their length and movement. Train alongside her and you'll come away playing smarter, not just hitting harder.
