A BIT ABOUT ME
Lucy was six years old when her dad first took her down to her local club for junior sessions. She took to it quickly — county selection followed, then a first England squad invite at ten, and a top-three national ranking at every junior age group after that. Squash has stayed with her as an adult too. She still plays regularly in local leagues alongside her work with England Squash and World Squash Officiating.
She started coaching in 2009 with junior group and individual sessions at her local club. She went on to become a county development officer for England Squash, setting up and running junior and adult sessions across Cheshire, and continued individual coaching when she moved to the Midlands for university. Today she works for England Squash as Talent Pathway Manager, where she manages the coaches and content behind the Aspire, Super-Regional, England Potential, and England Development squads.
Engaging, supportive, developing — that's how Lucy describes her coaching. A first session starts with a proper conversation about what a player wants to get out of their squash. She'll work through the basics — grip, racket prep, swing, footwork, balance — and from there build the session around the player in front of her, with technical work and engaging routines that keep things fun. Lucy coaches beginner, improver, and advanced players.
WHAT OUR PLAYERS SAY
“I wanted to try a new sport but had no idea where to start. I found Courter and the booking process was so straightforward it gave me the confidence to just go for it.”
“I booked a session for my nine-year-old daughter on a recommendation. She absolutely loved her first squash experience and keeps asking when she can play again.”
“I'd been looking for a female coach for ages. I wanted to get better at squash and start playing competitively but didn't know where to begin. Courter made it so easy to book — I'll definitely be booking again.”
